THE COPPER KING EXPRESS TO HELL

Today we met the boys family in Anaconda to take a train ride from Anaconda to Butte. It was a little pricey but we thought it would be a really neat experience. WE WERE WRONG!!! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE THIS RIDE, at least during the heat of summer. The only reason you might want to take this is to provide yourself with proof of the massive destruction that mining has done to that area. It looked like a bomb had gone off. IT WAS SO DEPRESSING and horrid. 4 hours of hell.

HatcH Festival of the Arts

I volunteer for Hatch Festival and find it very rewarding. There are a lot of naysayers who would like for it to fail locally because they are eager to say it is a failure. This year I was able to help in the selection process of the Groundbreaker or Short Student Films. Some were great, some were very not great but over all the experience waw a very cool. If you think about it, we are really lucky to have the HatcH folks here to celebrate the arts during a Festival that celebrates all of the arts, not just film. It is the first of it's kind. Of course it is going to have some jitters the first couple of years but it is a blast and totally worthwhile. I can see the growth even in the past couple of years. So, if you love any of the arts, check out there website or get involved. It is local, it is fun and it is cool.
