Rolling Stones...why yes I did see them in O6.

I did it, I saw the Rolling Stones in concert. I want to stop here, breath, and then tell you that it was a truly amazing concert. I have seen my share of concerts but this by far was the best concert experience of my life. The stage was actually a 3 tiered stage within a stage. There were people standing in it! Behind them were screens and from the audience all you could see were there silhouettes. The band looked like they were 3 feet tall from our nosebleed section until the portion beneath them began to roll forward and brought them right to our feet. It then hydraulically dropped down to match the level of the original stage. From there Mick lead the concert with 3 hours of aerobic exercise that I could not have done in my teens, all the while never sounding out of breath. In fact the giant screens, there were 3, did not make him look as if he was even breaking a sweat. The crowd never sat down for the entire performance and it was packed, not a seat to be seem from our birds eye view. There were families, with kids, cowboys, Harley dudes, Dr.'s, lawyers, the working class, you get it. Everyone was there, dancing and singing with them until the finally. Huge roaring columns of fire shooting out of the top of their 6 story stage. Over 21000 people gasped as the heat was felt all the way back to the furthest point of the stadium. It began with and ended with the crowd singing back to Mick and Fireworks shooting off like the 4th of July. The "M" above the stadium was flashing all night long as people took the trail up the side of the hill to watch from there and their flashes went off. To top it all off the moon rose right above the stadium and appeared to be watching the whole spectacle. The weather called for rain but it was perfect all night long. I took my 23 year old nephew with me and he told me this morning he could die a happy man. I get it. I get why the Stones have been around for 4 decades. I get why Rock makes everyone feel incredible and get along for 4 hours like family. It was nice, it was better than nice, it was a life experience that I will never forget. Thanks to the Stones and all of the rest of the fans who made the experience so memorable.
